	Silhouette's engine features a number of innovations to help provide a smooth, quiet ride and exceptional efficiency. The 3400 SFI V6 engine provides a robust 185 hp at 5,200 rpm and a 210 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. More importantly, 90% of peak torque is available from 1,800 rpm all the way to 4,000 rpm for excellent response and power on demand.

	If you walk away with an interior light on, Silhouette won’t leave you stranded with a depleted battery. The battery-rundown system will automatically turn off the lights after 10 minutes.

	On the road, you need to see and be seen. And as part of the design to make you more visible to oncoming traffic, all models feature daytime running lamps. With Silhouette’s excellent all-around visibility, it’s harder to be surprised by surrounding traffic. And with the low cowl height, large outside rearview mirrors and 180º rear wiper sweep, you get a better view of the road ahead and behind.
	As an aid to safety, Silhouette features a standard 4-wheel antilock braking system. Under maximum braking effort, the system modulates brake line pressure to help prevent wheel lockup, helping the driver to retain steering control and steer clear of an obstacle. To make the most of available traction on wet or slippery roads, the full-function traction control system reduces engine power and/or applies braking to the wheel or wheels that are slipping to help maintain stability and control.
	Standard on all Silhouettes, this new system provides for secure attachment of compatible child seats. It consists of separate lower anchors and a top tether anchor.

	When it comes to backing up, everyone could use an extra pair of eyes. The rear parking assist gives you audio and visual warning when approaching various obstacles. Works while the vehicle is in reverse at speeds less than 3 mph with an effective range of up to 5 feet (standard on Premiere and GLS).
	Silhouette’s computer-designed unibody construction provides a wealth of benefits. It minimizes squeaks and rattles, and enhances suspension precision for better handling and response. It is also designed with front and rear crumple zones to help absorb impact energy in a collision. Each door features a sturdy steel beam. They’re designed to reduce the risk of intrusion into the passenger compartment and dissipate energy in shallow angle side impacts to help enhance overall safety.
	All Silhouette models feature a side air bag*, stored in the side bolsters of the seats, for both the driver and front passenger. The side-impact air bags are designed to reduce the risk of injury in moderate-to-severe side impacts. All Silhouette models also feature a dual-stage frontal air bag for both the driver and front passenger.
